This grape variety has refined sweetness and a unique elegant aroma. Its history goes back to BC era and it’s also said that Cleopatra loved it. This is certainly one of the oldest grape varieties. The moment you bite into it, you can smell the delicate Muscat aroma. You’ll be surely captivated by the elegant black tea-like aroma.

INGREDIENT

This variety, nicknamed “Aleki” in Japan, is said to be the Queen of grapes. That’s because “Aleki” has this refined sweetness although it’s not as strong as Shine Muscat Grapes’ sweetness and above all it has this Muscat aroma. “Aleki” is a very old variety with a long history, and its unique elegant flavor is unlike any other grapes. The amount of its production has been decreasing in recent years due to the rising popularity of Shine Muscat Grapes. However, it’s still popular especially amongst grape farmers and it’s “a variety that true grape lovers admire”.

FLAVOR

We rare-dry delicate thin-skinned “Aleki” gently and slowly. When you bite into it, the Muscat aroma (black tea-like aroma) slowly kicks in and fills your mouth. Indulge in the refined sweetness and the unique elegant aroma.

PLACE OF ORIGIN

Mr./Ms. Ikemune preserves the traditional way of growing “Aleki”. They grow them in the traditional glass greenhouses and reduce the number of grape clusters hanging from each vine to the limit to give each cluster sufficient nutrients. We use those “Aleki” that Mr./Ms. Ikemune grows for our product.

PRESERVATION METHOD Store in a cool dry place, out of direct sunlight. “Best Before” date is one year after the production date. See bottom of can. Although we remove seeds manually, some seeds may be present. After opening, seal and comsume as soon as possible. Refrigeration recommended after opening.
