Koshu Hyakume has been commonly used for Hoshi-gaki (Dried persimmons) and Anpo-gaki (Semi-dried persimmons) in Yamanashi for a very long time. We only select and rare-dry fully ripened persimmons of the finest quality. You’ll be hooked on its texture, which is like a fresh persimmon yet soft and sticky, and its gentle, lasting sweetness. Indulge in the taste that is new yet somewhat nostalgic.

INGREDIENT

Koshu Hyakume is a large-sized persimmon, whose name comes from the fact that it weighs about Hyaku (100) monme (Hyaku(100) monme = about 375g. “Monme” is a unit of weight used in Japan).It’s a typical variety of astringent persimmons. Because its astringency is so strong that it’s pretty much inedible when raw, however the fruit becomes as sweet as other types of fruit when dried.

FLAVOR

We cut the fruit into cubes by hand with great care and rare-dry them. Indulge in the persimmon flavor that fills your mouth and the sticky texture that’s just like baked sweet potato.

PRESERVATION METHOD Store in a cool dry place, out of direct sunlight. “Best Before” date is one year after the production date. See bottom of can. Although we remove seeds manually, some seeds may be present. After opening, seal and comsume as soon as possible. Refrigeration recommended after opening. Please note that product specifications, etc. may change without prior notice.
