A nectarine is a type of peach but it doesn't have fuzz on the skin so you can eat it with skin on. Reiou is best in August and what's special about this variety is the dense flesh and the strong sweetness. This variety is more prone to diseases and bruises and its cultivation is difficult. So there are not many farmers who grow them even in Yamanashi Prefecture, where Reiou originated. Reiou we use is grown by Mr. Tanzawa and his Reiou is especially rare as they're sold for members only.
